The CG update
56% of the largest U.S. charities now accept cryptocurrency donations.
Whether its environmental protection, emergency humanitarian aid, animal protection, education, women’s safety or something different - the initiatives closest to our hearts are moving towards blockchain to process a portion of their donations.
Why?
Global Reach: Cryptocurrency donations enable charities to receive funds from donors worldwide without the limitations of traditional banking systems or currency conversions.
Lower Transaction Costs: Cryptocurrency transactions typically have lower processing fees compared to traditional payment methods, allowing charities to maximise the impact of each donation.
Transparency and Accountability: Blockchain technology offers transparent and traceable transactions, providing donors with confidence that their contributions are used as intended and fostering trust in the charity's operations.
Access to New Donors: Accepting crypto donations can attract tech-savvy donors who prefer digital currencies, expanding the charity's donor base and reaching a younger demographic.
Hedging Against Volatility: Charities can choose to hold cryptocurrency donations or convert them to fiat currency, providing flexibility to navigate market fluctuations and potentially increase the value of donations over time.
As for Chain Giving?
v1.0 of CG will work with smaller non profits to enable them to accept crypto donations. We are community-first infrastructure builders, subsequently we will build the necessary components to provide increased visibility of donations for the donor.
We want to expand the reach of non profits and validate their projects by enabling transaction visibility to donors and more data for NPOs to work with.
CG have launched PSGB.
Polkadot Social Good Builders is an accelerator knowledge-sharing community for all social good projects in the Polkadot ecosystem. Chain Giving is the first project to develop from this hub. Our latest updates will be in PSGB (so stay up to date by joining!).
CG have re-launched our website.
Our latest website is a sleek go-to for our links.
CG have released our Whitepaper.
Our whitepaper is a comprehensive technical outline of our project aimed at revolutionising fundraising and humanitarian aid through blockchain technology on Polkadot. Titled "Chain Giving: Fundraising and Humanitarian Aid on Polkadot," Version 0.1 of our whitepaper delves into the mission, vision and technical implementation of CG. It underscores the need for a blockchain in digital humanitarian assistance, detailing how a public blockchain can enhance the transparency, efficiency and accountability of philanthropic activities. By addressing concerns about scalability, costs, privacy CG presents a viable solution for Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) to raise funds and deliver aid more effectively
CG will be at Decoded
That’s right. Jul 12, 5.15PM, we will be presenting on the Pitch stage. We will outline our social good project and our mission. The team will be around Decoded and are looking forward to talking to everyone.
Wait… Did you apply for the Decentralised Futures Fund?
Yes! Prior to fully streamlining our mission and vision we submitted our best application for DF at the time. Although we did not make it through the review period, we are excited to share that we will be exploring other avenues of funding (many announcements coming soon…).
Our community and advisors have inspired us to get where we are and we will be reaching out with some specific and important updates. For now, check out our socials:
Until next time.
